Volunteers

SLT has volunteer opportunities both onstage and off.

Always wanted to be onstage?  Audition for a show (we have six a year).

Suffering from a bit of stage fright, but would still like to be heavily involved in a production?  Then volunteer to be on the technical crew of a show.

If none of those suit your fancy, you can work in hospitality serving food and drinks to patrons, help process tickets at the box office, help with set construction, assist with theatre maintenance and repairs, or work in any number of other areas.

If you have some specific talents, such as seamstress, costume designer, choreographer, stage lighting or sound experience, opportunities are also available in those areas.

Other opportunities are available, as well, such as working as a member of the production staff of a show, but some of the positions require previous SLT experience.  Check with a board member regarding those requirements.

There is always a need for people to perform the dozens of tasks required in producing our plays and musicals. If you are interested, or know someone who might be, contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Bonnie Macloud.

You will find more info on our FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS page.

We can use a lot of your time, but if you only have a little to offer, we can certainly use that too.

Other people to get in touch with:

Box Office - The Box Office always needs people to work behind the counter before a show to hand out tickets.  No computer skills are required; a person need only be able to smile at our guests, read the names on the reservation forms, made change, and if there is a conflict, to tactfully say, “Please see the Box Office Chairperson.”  All training will be provided.  You can work the night you attend the show, or you can volunteer on a different night. Ushers are also needed. Contact Rose Kennedy for more information.

Hospitality - Serve food and drinks or work the bar before a performance and during intermission.  Contact Brad Arseneaux for more information.
